With over 15 years of teaching experience, Sarena Hsu offers personalized violin, viola, and piano lessons in her private music studio. A proud member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), Sarena also serves as an evaluator for the Certificate of Merit examination. Her rich experience includes teaching at the Summer Music Berkeley Strings Program and the Strings Project at California State University Sacramento.

Students of Sarena are encouraged to participate in the yearly Certificate of Merit examination, which includes testing in music theory, ear training, and performance. Sarena customizes each lesson to meet the individual learning style of her students, ensuring a tailored and supportive approach.

For violin lessons, students work with the Suzuki Method, Do-It Method, Carl Flesch Scale Studies, along with a variety of concertos, sonatas, and etudes. Piano lessons are based on the comprehensive Celebration Series, building both technical skill and artistic expression.
